SkyWest Denver FAMLI + sick leave planning

SkyWest flight attendants are non-union and rely on the company Reliance program plus state leave laws. Denver-based crew report late approvals when FAMLI overlaps with SkyWest sick lists, so documentation is critical.

Priority issues to track

  • Reliance (Lincoln Financial) approvals arriving after roster deadlines, forcing unpaid drops.
  • Supervisors requesting medical PHI beyond what Colorado FAMLI requires.
  • Point resets not occurring after state leave—CrewTrac still shows an Attendance Event.

Immediate steps

  • Screenshot every CrewTrac entry and Reliance dashboard update before the system rolls over.
  • File Colorado FAMLI even if Reliance is pending; the state approval can protect you from discipline.
  • Request an HR witness for any investigatory call and follow up via email summarizing what was said.
  • If Crew Support issues a sick verification demand, ask for the policy in writing and note the due date.

Documents to save

  • CrewTrac attendance export for the last 12 months.
  • Reliance claim numbers, approval letters, and fax receipts.
  • All emails/texts with MODs, base managers, or SkyWest HR about leave.
